Switch OLED

As the new Switch OLED model reaches citizens’ hands, Nintendo has taken the liberty to include an integrated screen protector. While some of us might be tempted to peel it off, the manufacturer is highly encouraging users keep it sealed up in the protector.

The protector is an anti-scattering film, basically meaning on top of protecting your precious $350+ purchase from scratches, it also avoids the screen from shattering into dangerous shards if damaged. Taking a step back to the original models, they simply didn’t need this feature as their displays were plastic.

The film’s also not easy to really spot, so it’s not like it’ll be a huge distraction during your gaming sessions.

If you’re interested in having a special layer of protection, though, the Switch OLED’s anti-scatter film doesn’t intrude on adding another layer of protection, such as Nintendo’s own $20 first-party protector specifically made for the OLED model.
